Fit and transport safety
Measure the crossbar width and profile before purchase. Follow the vehicle, rack, and equipment manufacturers' load limits and tie-down instructions. Inspect all straps and attachments before travel and recheck the load as needed. Protective pads do not increase a roof rack's load rating or replace proper cargo restraint.
